Overview of the Health Sciences Collection

Miami Dade College’s Learning Resources provides students and faculty access to curricula supporting:

  • Print titles for in-library and at-home use
  • Downloadable eBooks
  • Databases & academic periodicals available on campus and remotely
  • AV materials including difficult to find DVDs, VHS (and VHS player), and streaming online content
  • Diverse information literacy instruction that includes embedded librarians, student & faculty workshops, technology petting zoos, online research support (e.g. library guides, Ask a Librarian virtual chat)
  • Course tutoring and APA instruction

Overview of Library Liaison Approach

Library liaisons work closely with the discipline to make sure that the faculty are given the opportunity to select materials and services that best fit the needs of the curriculum.  Each liaison works in a college-wide capacity.

Whether it's attending the discipline meetings, working with a small group of professors to review a database, or attending a national conference, library liaisons have the expertise needed in the field to support the changing needs of the discipline and support student success.
