Advisement & Career Services

The Advisement & Career Services Department provides students with a quality, learning-centered experience that enables them to establish and fulfill their educational and career goals. By facilitating an effective decision making process regarding educational, transfer and career goals, advisors promote appropriate course selection and assist students with referrals to internal and external resources and support services. A staff of full-time Academic and Career Advisors representing diverse educational and professional backgrounds is available to provide this service.

Health Services

MDC Medical Campus Wellness Clinic and the Miami Rescue Mission Clinic provide low-cost health services to our community and to our students, faculty and staff from all MDC campuses.

Institute for Civic Engagement & Democracy

iCED is a college-wide program that serves all eight MDC campuses, is part of Academic Affairs, works closely with Student Affairs, and is responsible for myriad service and civic engagement programs at the college that ignite, empower, and transform.

Learning Resources | Library & Labs

Librarians are available to assist with research needs and provide guidance on the use of resources. Learning Resources Labs and Courtyards... house state-of-the-art technology and software, as well as knowledgeable tutors that can provide face-to-face instruction in a variety of courses such as math, writing, reading, business, natural science, health sciences, speech and test preparation, and more.

S.C.H.O.L.A.R.S.

At MDC Hialeah, we believe in the power of education to transform lives and communities. We provide all SCHOLARS (Service-Centered, Holistic Opportunities for Learning, Achievement, Retention and Success) participants with a mentor as a way to ease their transition from high school to college. Participation in SCHOLARS will help build and strengthen those skills we know are essential to becoming a changemaker: empathy, leadership, communication and teamwork. First-time in college students will receive educational advice, career development, financial aid assistance and overall guidance from a second-year MDC Hialeah student. Our program is designed to build relationships and strengthen learning opportunities outside of the classroom, in an effort to maximize the college experience at MDC Hialeah Campus.

Virtual College

MDC offers credit courses and non-credit courses online. The Bachelor of Science and Applied Science, Associate in Arts, Associate in Science and College Credit Certificate are available fully online.
