In this webinar, Dr. Derryn Moten, Professor and Chair of History and Political Science at Alabama State University, will discuss the historical inequities in health care that have affected and continue to affect the African American community. The presentation will address African Americans’ past experiences in accessing health care, and how those historical challenges still resonate in our present-day context. This event is open to all who wish to further understand inequities in access to adequate healthcare in the U.S., particularly in marginalized communities.
Pre-registration is not required for this Zoom Webinar. Professors who ask their students to attend are encouraged to send a reminder and event link on the day of the event (Tuesday, 2/15/22).
The webinar will be recorded. The event recording, PowerPoint, bibliography and educator resources will be made available electronically post event.
