June 20th

Negotiation Skills - 10am            

This workshop gives students an overview of the negotiating process, how to develop a negotiation strategy, identify emotional indicators in the negotiating process, and understanding the outcomes of a negotiation. This workshop is a collaboration between the Business Department and Learning Resources.       

Business Etiquette - 12pm         

The Business Etiquette workshop will explore the five types of business etiquette that serve as general guidelines for manners and behavior within a professional setting.

Google Ads Display - 2pm           

Based on current market demand, Google is prioritizing for marketing professionals, Google Search, Google Video Ads and Google Display certification. All options to deliver targeted paid media campaigns through Google, YouTube and the Google Display Network.            

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work - 4pm           

This workshop focuses on how to collaboratively work within a team environment. Participants will learn how to form a team, how to manage the team using project management software, achieving consensus, and resolving group conflicts. Brought to you by the Learning Resources Department.            

                          

June 21st

Network Your Way to the Top - 10am    

Over 75% of all jobs are filled through referral. Your network is your net worth so it is very important to expand your contacts and meet new people. Presented by MDC Works.  

Citing Sources - 12pm           

Students will learn to identify the basic citation ingredients of APA and MLA formatting. Brought to you by the Learning Spot.

Get That Job! Resume Writing- 2pm       

Students will take part in a fun, interactive, moderator-led quiz activity that will (1) test mastery of key concepts and (2) promote reciprocal peer learning through discussion.      

Financial Literacy - 4pm

Participants will increase connections to key campus resources (Financial Aid/Single Stop/TRIO) to secure and maintain academic funding, as well as make informed judgments and effective decisions regarding the use and management of money.

June 22nd

Interview Skills - 10am  

Participants will acquire relevant skills for success in a job interview and follow-up letter.

Wikipedia Workshop - 12pm           

This Wikipedia workshop is designed to expose learners to the power of information literacy and equip them with the boldness necessary to be Wikipedia contributors.

Miami-Dade Public Library System - Paving the Road to Success - 12pm           

Join us for an on-site presentation of Miami Dade Public Library System's myriad of services, spaces, and resources specially gathered to help our patrons succeed on their personal, academic, and professional endeavors. This program is part of Miami-Dade College's Summer Workshop Series. Ages 12+

Linked In Profile - 2pm  

Learn to create an effective profile on LinkedIn, the largest professional networking site available today. Connect to jobs, internships and industry professionals. Presented by MDC Works.

Hootesuite Certification - 10am

Hootsuite allows professional social media marketers to plan, schedule, engage & monitor all Social Media from one dashboard for greatest ROI.

Students will learn how to avoid disconnecting sentences from the main clause. Hosted by the Learning Spot.

Office 365 - 12pm          

The main objective is for students to become familiar with the different tools available through Microsoft Office 365.
