Protocols for Learning Commons Space Reservation Requests

Classes/Instructional Sessions:
Computer stations may be requested by faculty/instructors throughout the semester.  In order to assess the effectiveness of this service, instructors will receive a brief survey to complete after they've taught in the Learning Commons.

Faculty may also reserve the Faculty Zoom Rooms located in 2119 for teaching remote courses.
Special Events:
Events in the Learning Commons must further the purpose of the Learning Commons - to support student academic success and engagement. If you are planning on hosting an event in the Learning Commons or are faculty or staff, please use the following request form. A maximum of two events per semester, per host will be considered. To be considered, the request must be submitted at least two weeks in advance of the event. Event hosts will be responsible to submit campus work requests for set up, clean up, media, technology and marketing.
Study and Review Sessions:
Rooms 2119 and 2120 are the only enclosed spaces that are reservable for study or review sessions.

Meetings of Student Organizations:

Room 2119 is reservable for student organization meetings.

Other considerations:

Because the Learning Commons is used as an open student collaborative study space, reservation requests are considered in light of time of the semester and number of existing reservations, in addition to the factors described above.

What you can expect:

We cannot consider requests received with less than two weeks notice. Additional information about your request may be needed and you will hear from library staff with further questions.  After you use the Learning Commons, you may be asked to participate in a follow up assessment survey that should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. There is no support in the Libraries for set up or clean up of the Learning Commons spaces for events.  It is up to the reserver to move any tables and chairs and clean up after a class or event. You may be asked to include Learning Resources branding on any publicity or signs created for your event.
