Orientation Session. You will be given the course syllabus.
Discussion on the Library layout, policies and procedures.

August - 27    How to locate books  and ebooks using the library’s online catalog.

September - 3   Using other community college and local Library catalogs.

September  8 - Searching for “other” media in our catalog.   

September - 10  - Work on the online catalog assignment.

September - 15-17 Using indexes to locate periodicals using the Gale Suite of  Electronic

September- 22 -24   Learn more about  subject specific specific databases. Psychology databases.

September -29  Work on the online database assignment.

October1-6   Introduce Reference Books as Resources.  Psychology Reference books.

October 8  Midterm exam.  

October 13-15  -Internet Research, search engines, web page evaluation.  Psychology Web Sites.

October20-22-  Copyright, Quoting vs paraphrasing and Plagiarism

October 27-29 -     Work on the Internet/Reference Assignment.

November 3-5    The research paper. Introduce citation styles.

November 10-12   Citing books, periodicals and electronic resources using  APA style.

November 17- 19  -  Choose topics for final research project.

November 24 -  Work on Final projects.

November 26 Take an extra day off for Thanksgiving!

December 1-3  Discussion and consultation on project.

December 8-10   “Wrap up” for Final Exam  and  hand out Take Home Final Exam

Dercember 15-17   Final exam and projects are due.
