Use these databases to find scholarly journal articles, peer-reviewed research, primary sources, and background materials related to anthropology. Access is free to MDC students, faculty, and staff with your college login.

  • Sociological Collection (EBSCO) – Ideal for exploring social systems, belief structures, race, kinship, and global cultures.
     
  • Academic OneFile (Gale) – A general academic database with strong content in cross-cultural studies, human development, and migration.
     
  • Academic Search Complete (EBSCO) – Multidisciplinary with a strong core of anthropology articles covering gender, ritual, identity, and cultural adaptation.

  • Daily Life Through History – Primary and secondary sources on cultural practices across time. Excellent for archaeological context and ethnographic comparison.

🔐 Accessing Anthropology Databases
To access MDC Library databases, you'll need to log in using your Miami Dade College credentials. This is the same username and password you use for MDC systems like Canvas, student email, or MDConnect. Once logged in, you can search, view, and download full-text articles and other academic resources.

When prompted, simply enter:

Username: MDC user name (e.g., John.Doe001)

Password: The same password you use for MDC systems
