Meet with a Librarian

Need reference help? Have a research question? Librarians are prepared to assist you through Blackboard Collaborate and Ask A Librarian. Meeting sessions for students, staff, and groups can be organized and set up through Blackboard Collaborate. If you'd like to make an appointment to meet with a librarian please refer to the Contact Us tab and send us an email. We will create a Blackboard Collaborate room where we can meet virtually. For quick or general questions, utilize the state-wide reference service Ask A Librarian.

Digital Resources

Easily access streaming video options, academic journals and articles through the MDC databases, as well as ebooks and audiobooks. See the Research Materials & Digital Resources tab for additional information.

Open Educational Resources (OER) have been compiled by librarians for various disciplines. Access these through the LibGuide search page or your discipline's specific Library Resources LibGuide. General OER information is also available on the Open Educational Resources at MDC LibGuide. See the Faculty Resources tab for additional information.

Blackboard Collaborate

Blackboard Learn: For Instructors Playlist

This set of videos for instructors covers course design, communication, collaboration, and assessment.

Request Library Instruction

Information Literacy instruction, conducted in the library or in the classroom, helps your students formulate strategies to locate, evaluate, and apply information (L.O. #4). Librarians teach research skills using both online and print resources. Each instruction is tailored to the research needs of the class.

Librarians college-wide are prepared to provide Information Literacy instructions via Blackboard Collaborate. Once the request is received, a librarian will be reaching out to you with a link to a virtual room through Blackboard Collaborate. Students can then join the session at the prearranged date and time.
