Psychology, an Introduction

According to OxfordReference.com, psychology is the:

study of the nature, functions, and phenomena of behaviour and mental experience. The etymology of the word implies that it is simply the study of the mind, but much of modern psychology focuses on behaviour rather than the mind, and some aspects of psychology have little to do with the mind. Many textbooks define psychology simply as the study of behaviour, or the science of behaviour, but that too is to exclude much of psychology: the study of cognition, for example, is concerned with behaviour only indirectly, as evidence of mental processes.
