What is Sociology?

Sociology is the study of social life, social change, and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. Sociologists investigate the structure of groups organizations, and societies and how people interact within these contexts. Since all human behavior is social, the subject matter of sociology ranges from the intimate family to the hostile mob; from organized crime to religious traditions; from the divisions of race, gender and social class to the shared beliefs of the common culture.  Read More.

QEP Logo: Do the Write thingWriting for the Real World - Strengthening Writing and Career Knowledge.

In the modern workplace, the ability to communicate effectively can be the difference between success and failure. Surveys show that business leaders need employees with strong communication skills. Built on the recommendations of students and the entire College community, Do the Write Thing is the College's effort to address that need and give our students a competitive edge as they continue their education or progress into the job market.

To accomplish this goal, this five-year Quality Enhancement Plan will ask students to:

  • Evaluate their writing performance and workforce readiness
