Join us in exploring Overtown, Miami's first segregated black neighborhood, established alongside the city in 1896. Experience the Black Archives Historic Lyric Theatre, guided by Miami's premier black historian, Dr. Dorothy Jenkins Fields. Discover the theater's fascinating exhibits and artifacts, showcasing the founding and progression of black Miami and its pioneers. Our adventure extends to Jackson's Eatery in Overtown, where we'll savor traditional soul food. This immersive trip promises a profound connection to Miami's original black community, honoring the legacy of Black Heritage Month. Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate history, culture, and community with us!
