The librarians of Learning Resources offer research and citation support for all courses. Get assistance with the following:

  • Library Overview: basic overview of library resources
  • Topic Selection: help selecting or narrowing down your topic
  • Finding Sources: locate credible online sources, print/ electronic books, navigate library databases
  • Evaluating Sources: learn about useful evaluation methods to verify information
  • Avoiding Plagiarism: correctly use in-text citations to summarize, paraphrase, and quote sources
  • MLA/ APA Style Formatting: format your paper, create a works cited or references page, in-text citation help
  • Annotated Bibliography: format, cite, and annotate your sources according to MLA/ APA style guidelines

 

   

   

Schedule an appointment with a librarian using EAB Navigate

 

  1. Log in to Navigate Student

  2. Select "Make Appointment"

  3. Choose the service, campus, date and time you want the tutoring appointment to take place.

  4. Submit request and review appointment details.

  5. Be on time, provide the necessary course materials, and come with questions.

Ask a Librarian is administered by the Tampa Bay Library Consortium, and provides Florida residents with virtual reference services through live chat and text messaging from 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday (ET), and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday (ET).

Email is available to patrons 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and all email is answered by the user’s local library.

The service’s slogan, “The Human Search Engine”, truly says it all! Ask a Librarian maximizes valuable staff time and resources by sharing reference services with a rapidly-expanding base of participating libraries throughout Florida.
