Everyone Can Be a Changemaker

Changemaking at Miami Dade College
Changemaking is rooted in MDC’s history and at the heart of who we are as an educational institution. Changemaker education empowers students by offering opportunities to engage with social and environmental issues and practice creating positive change.

	The Changemaker Showcase, hosted by Homestead Campus, is designed to highlight and recognize the work of students on social innovation and social change projects. Designed to provide students with an opportunity to participate in a professional conference poster presentation, amongst a collegial crowd, the Changemaker Showcase confers "Student Changemaker" status to all participants.

Description

Individual students and groups are encouraged to present any project or idea that has been designed to change our community for the better. Projects emerge from course assignments, service-learning activities, community service projects, student club programming, and volunteer work outside MDC. Issues presented in past showcases vary widely, from human trafficking to prison reform to saving the bees.
