Below is the recommended path for full-time faculty new to teaching at MDC. Note: It is strongly recommended that new full-time faculty take the FSA before the ACUE Course on Effective Teaching Practices. The FSA should be taken in their first year at the College.
New, mid-career, as well as established faculty benefit from using the FPD Pathways Matrix, a career planning tool.
New faculty attend the Faculty Success Academy (FSA), a two-term seminar-type experience, during their first two major terms at Miami Dade College (fall+spring or spring+fall). Contact Jose Rodriguez (jrodri28@mdc.edu) in CIOL to find the most appropriate cohort to join.
These resources help provide structure for conversations between mentors and new faculty.
Our MyPDP Guide is intended to help all incoming faculty at Miami Dade College plan their professional goals for their first five years.
New faculty take the ACUE course on "Effective Teaching Practices" during their second or third year at Miami Dade College. Successful completion of the restricted section of the ACUE course for annual contract faculty is one of the requirements to be eligible to apply for continuing contract. Contact Jose Rodriguez (jdrodri28@mdc.edu) in CIOL for details on how to register for the correct cohort.
