9/11 Observance Ceremony at North Campus

September 11 Observance: Unity and Resilience

MDC North Campus to Host 9/11 Observance Ceremony

This year, the Unity and Resilience ceremony will take place at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, at the North Campus, West Lawn Plaza. Retired City of Miami Beach Chief Virgil Fernandez will serve as this year guest speaker. The event will honor the nearly 3,000 men, women, and children from more than 90 countries who perished on that day. Everyone is welcome to participate.

MDC North Campus is also home to two steel artifacts from the World Trade Center, donated to MDC by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. These permanently installed fixtures serve as a tribute to all those who lost their lives in the terror attacks and also to America’s resilience. MDC North Campus is located at 11380 N.W. 27th Ave.
