Meet the Librarians

Librarian April Gaddis

Librarian Nerys Torralbas


April N. Gaddis serves as the Associate Director of Learning Resources at Miami Dade College, Hialeah Campus which oversees the Library and all of the Academic Labs. Gaddis is also an adjunct professor of First-Year Seminars and Experiences. She earned her Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration at Florida International University and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Mississippi State University. Gaddis co-leads the Peer Mentor Task Force at her campus and she is also the recipient of the Institute for Civic Engagement and Democracy Adjunct Faculty Member of the Year.


Nerys Torralbas is the Academic Support Writing Coach at the Hialeah Campus Learning Resources. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Florida International University and a Master of Arts degree in Library and Information Science from University of South Florida. Nerys has been supporting student learning at Miami Dade College since 2012. She currently oversees the Writing and Speech tutoring center at the Hialeah Campus and works closely with faculty and various departments to promote digital literacy and information literacy through the library instructions and tutoring.
