Professional Etiquette in Cyberspace

Participants will:

  1. Determine the unique qualities and challenges of cyber-communication.
  2. Identify unprofessional behavior and language to avoid. 
  3. Recognize the importance of nonverbal communication and professional courtesy.
  4. Implement professional etiquette techniques in online discussion posts, emails, phone calls and voicemails.



Guidelines For Keeping A Lab Notebook

This skillshop will cover basic principles and best practices in keeping a lab notebook, as well as a brief demonstration of the features of an electronic lab notebook.




Introduction to Java

This workshop is suitable for anyone interested in computer programming; no experience required. The workshop includes a follow along coding demonstration and Q&A.




Public Speaking

Participants will:

  1. Explore the 5 P's of a strong presentation: Purpose, Prepare, Practice, Pause and Breathe!, Proceed.
  2. Participants will then use these techniques to compose and deliver an impromptu speech.
