Ildiko Barsony is as an Associate Professor of English at Miami Dade College, North Campus. She integrates high-impact educational practices, such as undergraduate research and peer writing mentorship, into her composition courses. As a faculty steering lead for the Humanities Edge, she is an enthusiastic advocate for the program. Dr. Barsony holds a Bachelor of Science in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and History from the University of Szeged, Hungary, a Master of Science in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Florida International University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Language, Literacy, and Culture from the same institution. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and learning languages. She's slowly making some progress in German and Portuguese.
Dr. Mariana Vaillant Molina is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Miami Dade College's Hialeah campus. She earned a Ph.D. in psychology with a focus on developmental and experimental psychology from Florida International University and teaches various developmental and social psychology courses. Her teaching incorporates an understanding of and appreciation for research methods and often includes problem-based learning, undergraduate research, and service-learning experiences related to social issues. Dr. Molina is chairperson of the Student Interdisciplinary Symposium, an annual co-curricular event she helped design, showcasing students' scholarly work at Miami Dade College. Dr. Molina serves as co-advisor for the Hialeah chapter of the International Honor Society of Community Colleges, Phi Theta Kappa, and helps to mentor student members and officers with their honors programming in that role.
