Will

Biography

Will R. Robinson, a Black man born around 1892, resided in Dade County, Florida during the World War I draft registration period. At the time of his registration between 1917 and 1918, he was 39 years old and living at 220 Avenue G, a modest residence likely valued between $1,500 and $2,000. Will worked in the concrete industry, a physically demanding trade that aligned with his reported medium build, medium height, dark eyes, and black hair. His registration listed Lena Robinson as his nearest relative, possibly a spouse or close family member. Though detailed family records are limited, his draft registration places him among the many African American laborers contributing to South Florida's early 20th-century development while also answering the call for military readiness during wartime.
