Q: Can I bring a snack?
A: No, food is not permitted in the Learning Commons. Covered drinks only.
There are several areas on campus in which to eat. Ask our staff for the nearest areas.
The Kendall Learning Commons' food and drink guidelines is intended to provide a clean environment for students, as well as to preserve library collections and technology.

Q: Why do I need to sign-in? Where do I get an MDC Card?
A: Signing-in helps us staff to allocate resources accordingly. You can get a MDC card at Student Life.
Go to room 100 and bring a government issued ID and your class schedule to obtain an MDC ID. More information can be found at the MDCard page.
Q: Who can help me find a book or article I need?
A: Reference librarians are available at the Reference Desk on the second floor of the Learning Commons.

Q: What tutoring is available in the Learning Commons?
A: Writing tutors and study skills workshops are available. For other subjects visit the Labs by Campus.
Q: Is there a cost to use the Learning Commons?
A: All services and spaces are included in your student tuition, except for printing
Q: Can I book a study room for more than 2 hours?
A: No. To provide opportunities for all students, study rooms can only be booked for 2 hours.

Q: What can I do if the library doesn't have the book I need?
A: MDC offers inter-campus (ICL) and inter-library (ILL) loans which allow you to request materials from other campuses and libraries.
Visit the reference desk if you need assistance requesting an ICL or ILL loan.
