Meredith Delatorre is a third-year student living in Homestead who recently graduated from Miami Dade College with an Associate Degree in Computer Science. She is currently attending her first semester at the University of Miami. When she was in high school, she represented Florida as a 2020 National Award Winner of the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing. She graduated with Honors from MDC Kendall Campus with a 4.0 GPA, was a Jack Kent Cooke semifinalist, and received UM’s President’s Scholarship. She loved her time in MDC and was very involved as she was the Vice President of Florida Engineering Society, Treasurer of the MDC Computer Club, and board member for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in computer science and a minor in Japanese language at UM. She continues to be a part of the MDC-Space Weather Research Team in hopes of continuing research on the global atmosphere. |
Dunnel Fennell is a transfer student, and he currently attends Miami Dade College North Campus. His academic focus is in biochemistry and he is also interested in the food industry. He aspires to have a career as a researcher in food science. |
Camilo Jarrin is a student from Miami Dade College looking to obtain his Associates in Art degree by the end of Fall 2022. He is majoring in electrical engineering. Camilo Jarrin enjoys riding his bicycle, trucks, and studying. |
Dorsa Fatemeh Sarab is a second-year dual-enrolled student at Miami Dade College and FLVS. She has interests in science and technology, community engagement, and music. She has recently completed two separate internships in physics and engineering at MDC and the 2022 FIU Summer Youth Internship Program. She is involved in community activism by supporting Diverse Voices in several organizations in MDC-SGA and service groups such as She the People (STP) and the Refugee Assistance Alliance. She is president-elect of the Eta Sigma Alpha honor society Omega Nu chapter. Dorsa is interested in studying biomedical engineering to combine her interests in improving human health through technology. |
