Saba Ali Andres Arzube Mackendy Baptiste

Saba Ali is currently a fourth-year student at Miami-Dade College and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Biotechnology. Her work as a paramedic has encouraged her to further her studies and explore the world of scientific research. She aspires to attain a PhD in Biotechnology.

Serving as a proud representative of Miami Senior High School, Andres Arzube is a fourth-year student at Miami Dade College, North Campus. Enthusiastic about pursuing his pre-veterinarian major, Andres acknowledges the impact STEM has made in his career path thus far. Thanks to the School of Science STEM Research Institute, many students are part of the program which offers many options to succeed in their careers. Andres’ goals include entering veterinarian school and working in his field to gain more knowledge prior to graduation. He feels this is essential to student success.

Mackendy Baptiste is a biotechnologist undergraduate student finishing his second year at Miami Dade College, North Campus. He is from Haiti and has been living in the United State for six years. His career goal is to get a position in a vastly growing company where he will work as a professional and advance his skills through understanding the basic building blocks of living things. Possessing analytical thinking skills, with a vast knowledge of biology and chemistry, Mackendy is a great asset to the community. He spends his leisure time watching movies, absorbing news, reading books, traveling with his family, and playing soccer with his son. His future goal is to continue with a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology and later enter a pharmacy program to obtain an additional degree that will further guide him toward his dream position.

Victoria Perez Priscilla Puche Samuels Serrano
Victoria Perez is a second-year student at Miami Dade College, West Campus. She is currently pursuing her AA in Biology, with plans to transfer to a four-year institution to complete her bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Neuroscience. With aspirations of entering a field in the health sciences, Victoria focuses on learning through her academic studies and in extracurriculars, such as research, where she can cultivate her passions. Additionally, she plans to initiate a pre-health organization at her home campus for members of the student body interested in careers in medicine, dentistry, nursing, and psychology. Priscilla Puche is originally from Brazil and has been living in the United States for 23 years. She recently graduated from Miami Dade College with her Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Biotechnology degree, where she was a very active student. Currently completing a research internship at the University of Miami, Priscilla’s goal is to continue conducting research and working in labs as she enjoys researching and learning. She would like to continue her education until she acquires her Ph.D. Samuels Serrano is in his second year at Miami Dade College, Homestead Campus. The clubs he participates in are PTK, NSF, and many more. He has also been to symposiums at the Homestead Campus where his team won 2nd place. Samuels is very interested in human anatomy and hopes to become a doctor.
