Bannedlander Project: Feminisim, Book Bans, and Outlander Controversy by Paola Arriaza

Abstract

This research analyzes Outlander from a feminist, environmentalist, and eco-feminist perspective. The product is a podcast on banning Outlander in Scotland and Florida, in addition to exploring the intersection between feminism and historically banned books. The podcast series and website encompass testimonies and interviews from historians, students who studied literature abroad, librarians, and other literary officials. With book bans becoming increasingly prominent, it is crucial to understand some of the influences, effects, and history of book challenges.
