Abstract
Still-life paintings are more than objects at rest. In some cases, these objects form part of the artist's daily life and habits, telling a story about the artist and the times they lived in. Some paintings use symbolism to convey their message. These paintings illustrate different aspects of our past, certain items in their environment that can deepen our understanding of life in the past. As time progresses artists continue to make still-life paintings and we can observe how and in what ways humanity continues to change.
