"Environmental Effects of the Clothing Industry"
Course: EAP 1686 - Advanced Reading and Speech 2
Instructor: Helen Roland
The textile industry is an economic production dedicated to the manufacture of threads, fibers, fabrics and other products, with the aim of improving people's quality of clothing. This type of production has consequences, mostly environmental, due to the harmful materials, such as contamination of the water of rivers or oceans, of the soil, of the ecosystem, and problems in the health of people and animals. This industry also depletes renewable energy sources, emits greenhouse gases and uses a large amount of water.
