"BRCA Genes and the Influence of their Mutations"
Course: BSC 2010 - Principles of Biology
Instructor: Catalina Aristizabal
BRCA genes suppress tumor proteins and help produce proteins that assist in repairing damaged DNA. In the case that a mutation occurs, such function is often inhibited and can increase the chance an individual will develop either breast or ovarian cancer. In this presentation, the influence of pathogenic variants, groups at risk for BRCA gene mutations, among other topics are expressed to spread awareness on BRCA genes and promote good health and well-being.
