Unify Challenge: Impact

This Libguide is dedicated to the Unify Challenge, a face-to-face video conversation between two students who attend different schools and may vote differently, live in different geographies, or have different life experiences.

  • 61% were “a lot more likely” (42%) or “a bit more likely” (19%) to vote in the upcoming midterm elections 

  • 79% felt "a lot more hopeful" (36%) or a "bit more hopeful" (43%) about the future of our country after taking the Unify Challenge 

  • 74% "Strongly agree" (49%) or "somewhat agree" (25%) that “the Unify Challenge gave me a better understanding that people who vote differently than me have good reasons for believing what they do.” 

  • 75% said "I was surprised by how easy it was to talk to my partner" 

  • 63% said "I was surprised by how much we agreed" 

  • 46% said "I was surprised by how respectful the conversation was when we disagreed"
