What is Psychology of Career Adjustment?

This course is... 

For students who have not decided, are having difficulty deciding, or need clarification in making a career choice. A format for a systematic investigation for career and life planning is included. It is concerned with "who you are," "where are you going," "how to get there," and "what's out there that fits you."

Week 1 Exploration: Getting to Know You

Week 2 Exploration: Careers and Trends 

  • Presentation and visit from Student Life

Week 3 Planning for Success: MDC Resources 

  • Presentation and visit from Learning Resources and Advisement

Week 4 Planning for Success: Job Search Resources

  • Presentation on MDC Works and Resume and Cover Letter Writing Workshop

Week 5 Career Research: Searching as Strategic Exploration

  • Presentation on MDC Work Study opportunities

Week 6 Career Research: Putting It All Together

 

In addition to these weekly modules and the special guest presentations, you are also required to attend the Fast Track Scholars Summer Programming:
