The West Campus goal was to: 1. Transition the content of the student support and teaching innovation workshops utilizing the available student support tools in Canvas. 2. Continue development of the Literacy Wellness Spa proof of concept to advance the culture of academic excellence and innovation as well as a culture of care.
Where we have been and where we are going:
Part 1 Progress:
All full-time Faculty have either completed or are in progress to transition their courses to the Canvas platform.
Seven Full Time Faculty have completed Quality Matters coursework that offers instructors a learner experience utilizing Canvas platform tools.
Faculty are familiarizing themselves with tools provided on Canvas using the best instructional design practices including communication tools, building ADA content, Early Alerts and Interventions, feedback, and the analytics tool called New Analytics, etc.
◦For example, New Analytics provides a way to interactively view average course grades, compare course averages, view average weekly online participation, send messages to all students based on course grade or participation criteria, view and download reports for missing assignments, or if students have met course criteria.
Part 2 Progress:
Offered one Literacy Wellness Spa in Summer 2022 term. Two Full Time faculty and two Part-Time English faculty collaborated with Learning Resources and Student Services to provide a comprehensive series of micro-lab and spa experiences during an afternoon. Based on positive participant survey results, more are planned for this academic year.
