Let's Be Changemakers: Overview
An online resource guide addressing social innovation and changemaking education resources
Whether through classes, co-curricular activities, internships, or special events, they take a broad approach at engaging educators and staff in the spirit of changemaking. They encourage and celebrate all sorts of positive change, whether big or small, and offer different ways to get involved in changemaking. MDC’s strategy for changemaker education aims to be accessible and inclusive with a clear call to action.
The IDEA Center is a support network for all Miami Dade College students and community members to make creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial ideas come true. They are committed to building entrepreneurs that change the world and creating changemakers with an entrepreneurial mindset. The IDEA Center partners with diverse business experts, educators, and innovators to ensure MDC students have the support they need to succeed in making their creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial ideas come true.
The Institute for Civic Engagement and Democracy is part of the office of Changemaking Education and Social Innovation. iCED's mission is to transform learning, strengthen democracy and contribute meaningfully to the common good by awakening and empowering students for lifelong civic engagement.

The Significance of Changemaking in Education
Now, more than ever, students need to move beyond traditional disciplines, taught in traditional ways to rapidly develop skills and adopt new ways of thinking. The opportunity in a post-COVID-19 world is to continue to turn towards communities as part of economic and social rebuilding initiatives, and to ensure that graduates have the passion and confidence to lean-in to complex problem-solving challenges as global citizens.
