In Biology, protein folding, and the understanding of that process is critical to understanding the interactions between other macromolecules. So much of biotic life is composed of perfectly attuned chemicals reacting in such specific ways and for many of these reactions, proteins and their receptor sites are at the heart of it all. Developing computer systems to make fast and cheap models of folded proteins can propel the nations around the world to stability.
