NAMI Flare (Iman Clark)
The Art of Burlesque
April 15 | 5:30 PM – 6:45 PM

NAMI FLARE (IMAN CLARK)

In 2020, Nami Flare graduated from The Ohio State University with a BFA in Dance and shortly after relocated to Miami, FL. A year after moving, she was drawn into the world of burlesque by her burlesque mentor Asmara Honeywhine.

On stage, Nami often incorporates music and costuming inspired by the vibrant 1970s disco and funk social scenes. Offstage, she produces events that support the holistic well-being of burlesque and drag performers—such as town halls, classes, and costume swaps.

Her performances explore sensuality, self-identity, and community, and she has performed across South Florida, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Raleigh, and beyond. In 2024, she was crowned Mx. Ebony Burlesque Atlanta, continuing the legacy of melanated performers who came before her.

The Art of Burlesque

In this class, students will be introduced to the world of burlesque through both movement and history. They will be guided through the foundation of tease, prop play, audience interaction, and musical exercises.

(This class is for ages 18 and up)
