Abstract
My research is focused on the vanished Tequesta Natives who long ruled over the Miami area prior to colonization of the Americas. The Tequesta hunters prowled the natural scenery in search of their livelihood and were a civilization several thousand strong who relied completely on hunting and gathering. They never turned to agriculture to support themselves. I wanted to make this aspect of their lives the main focus of my project. Through my artwork, I depict certain species of plant and animals which were the main food source for the Tequesta.
