Abstract
Although society idealizes equality, women are still being objectified and discriminated in the US. As an architecture student, I want to investigate the gender bias and discrimination that prohibits women’s growth at architectural firms. I will be conducting an exploratory case study on the experiences of professional women in the field of architecture. By interviewing three females in the field, I can describe their journey and what they have encountered as women in a male dominated field. I will supplement my interviews with scholarly research with archival materials such a s journals, newspapers, speeches, and other relevant literature. I will culminate my research and preliminary findings in an academic essay.
