Abstract

The undergraduate research project will present a case study of five African American males representing diversity within the culture. The research will highlight through their voices of experiences, what has been the foundations for creating success as well as challenges /obstacles with graduating from Miami Dade College. The goal is to analyze each male as an individual story and research the relationships between the African American male and college enrollment. We will also evaluate our roles as a local community, Miami Dade College Family and as a team of visionaries with influential perspectives to the African American male college candidate. Our goal is to allow insight to guide in creating effective interventions to increase enrollment for the African American; while breaking the stigmas correlating an unconscious system of academic alienation. It is our desire to hear; ROLL CALL, AFRICAN AMERICAN MALE, PRESENT!!
