Pollution Affecting Agriculture by Angie Ardavin, Amanda Dominguez, & Fabiana Di Mariana

Abstract

Pollution is all over the planet. It affects a great number of things in the environment. One item that is affected is agriculture. When agricultural crops are exposed to high levels of various environmental pollutants, they can be harmed. The consequences range from noticeable markings on the leaf to limited growth and yield, and the plant's early mortality. The magnitude of the harm is determined not only by the amount of the specific pollutant, but also by several other variables. These factors also include amount of exposure to the chemical, the types of plants, as well as natural features that increase pollutant build-up and plant preconditioning, making the plant sensitive or resistant to harm. This causes the crops to not grow or grow improperly. It is our job to help reduce pollution and improve the health of our crops.
