Abstract

Rosalind Elsie Franklin was born on July 25, 1920, in London, England. Her father was Ellis Arthur Franklin, who was an investment banker, and her mother was Muriel Frances, who did charitable work such as helping the elderly and unmarried mothers.. Rosalind was the second oldest child out of her five siblings. Her education took place in private schools, where she was seen as an outstanding student.
