Virtual Symposium Requirements

All students must submit the following to their faculty mentor:

  • A headshot and bio (100 words max) written in the third person
  • An abstract (100-150 words)
  • The title of the artifact/project
  • An artifact (e.g., academic paper) or the representation of that artifact (a picture of a painting) – no page/word-count limit
  • A conference poster
    • Template available for students on Canva (select File on the top left and Make a Copy to use template)
  • Agreement to participate in a live presentation session (6 minutes max)

Note:  Students will have a “rehearsal” session.

Symposium Structure

The virtual symposium will include synchronous (live) presentations. 

  • A commenting feature is available on each project page.
  • Attendees can also comment and ask questions via the webinar chat feature.

Synchronous | Live Presentations

The live presentations will take place on April 13 at 6:00 pm.

  • Students will present on panels (2-3 speakers per panel) for 6 minutes each.
  • Attendees will comment using the chat feature.
  • Facilitated Q&A will take place after all the speakers on the panel have presented.
