Valerie Bouchara: Article 19 - Digital Rendering
Statement
In a world where information is power, governments and media owners have long utilized all available technologies to shape news narratives with the purpose of influencing the public opinion and deteriorating honest media freedom for decades. These gatekeepers exercise their control over social media and digital or printed news channels, narrowing our understanding of reality. Furthermore, personal opinions are filtered and reshaped to fit the narrative and goals of these media moguls.
Through my artwork, I wanted to convey the sense of censorship and biased news working against truthful freedom of opinion and speech.
