Tianjao Shen: Article 20 - Digital Photography
Statement
I took these two photos on the street. There were powerful slogans such as “my body my choice”, “sex work is work”, “black lives matter”, etc. The protesters stated that a significant portion of sex workers reported encountering violence with clients or being mistreated by police etc. Prostitution is illegal in most states in the U.S, which causes them a to have a bad working environment. This involves several human rights violations such as freedom from discrimination and torture.
