Statement

In this piece, I incorporated a collage and digital illustration, while combining graphic elements, to create a very real scene of our present day. The protestors in the collage in the background of my piece are just some examples of people exercising their rights. These protests serve as a voice for those who are combating injustice. It is critical to preserve freedom of speech amongst all individuals, especially when speaking out against discrimination and violations of other human rights. As a society, we should amplify black voices, keeping an open mind instead of silencing them. Censoring those speaking out against injustice holds us back from progressing into a world where every individual holds them same rights as the next.
