The Mathematics of Writing

The Mathematics of Writing explores some of the interdisciplinary relationships between mathematics and writing. We will look at how mathematics has influenced my tutoring style and my own writing. This presentation will explore some applications for mathematical thinking and the skills needed to develop effective tutoring strategies for writing. I will share some tutoring strategies I have found to be effective with students and I will briefly explore some mathematical concepts that heavily rely on oral and written communication skills.
